Food and teeth
Joey needs his teeth to chew his meals properly, allowing his body to get all of the vitamins and other important nutrients out of the food. The better his teeth function, the more vitamins and nutrients his body can absorb. Joey brushes his teeth twice a day. However, there is more that Joey should do to keep his brand new adult teeth healthy. So let’s do the assignments and give Joey the power of smiling.
What would you suggest Joey should or shouldn’t eat and drink to keep his teeth healthy?
Joey shouldn’t eat foods with lots of sugar in it and should eat fruits because they contain lots of vitamins.
Joey shouldn’t eat foods with lots of sugar in it and should drink water and eat things such as carrots, spinach and almonds because they contain calcium and vitamins.
Why do you think Joey is less likely to get diseases when he has healthy teeth?
Because healthy teeth are able to kill the germs and bacteria by chewing them to death, before they enter Joey’s body.
Because healthy teeth are better chewers and the better Joey chews his food the more nutritious and protective vitamins his body will absorb and the better his saliva can help fight the germs in his mouth.
